KATHMANDU: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki has departed for the United States.

In his absence, Additional Inspector General (AIG) Rajan Adhikari has been given the responsibility of Acting Police Chief.

IGP Karki left for New York to attend the ‘Chiefs of Police Summit’ to be held at the United Nations Headquarters.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deep Shamsher JBR is also accompanying him to the summit.

Additionally, the IGP of the Armed Police Force (APF), Narayan Datta Paudel, has also departed for the United States.

Meanwhile, AIG Banshi Raj Dahal has been designated as the Acting Chief of the Armed Police Force.

The summit is scheduled to take place on July 7 and 8.
