KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah is holding a high-level dialogue with construction entrepreneurs today to discuss ongoing issues, potential solutions, practical challenges in the construction sector, and necessary policy facilitation from the government.
The discussion is scheduled for 11:30 AM at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
Key attendees will include Nicholas Pandey, President of the Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal (FCAN); Mukesh Panta, Senior Vice President; Shivahari Ghimire, General Secretary; Balkrishna Thapa, Vice President for Bagmati Province; and Jayaram Lamichhane, former President and Advisor of the Federation.
Today’s dialogue follows a comprehensive meeting held yesterday by Prime Minister Shah with top representatives of the private sector to address broader industrial development, the investment climate, and structural economic reforms.
During yesterday’s meeting, PM Shah engaged in detailed talks with leaders from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) led by President Anjan Shrestha, the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) represented by Immediate Past President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal and Director General Ghanshyam Ojha, and the Nepal Chamber of Commerce represented by President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal and Senior Vice President Deepak Malhotra. The delegation also included FNCCI Industry Committee Chairman Ujjwal Kumar Shrestha.
Addressing the business leaders, Prime Minister Shah emphasized that the private sector remains a crucial partner to the government in driving the nation’s economic development, investment expansion, job creation, and production growth.
He assured the private sector that his administration is fully prepared to resolve the practical hurdles being faced by industrialists and entrepreneurs, committing to prioritize necessary policy, legal, and administrative reforms.
Private sector representatives put forward actionable suggestions regarding policy stability, investment expansion, and the necessity of maintaining regular, results-oriented dialogue between the government and the business community.
