KATHMANDU: In a decisive move to tackle financial exploitation, the government has ordered the Ministry of Home Affairs to immediately implement all past commission reports dedicated to resolving the struggles of predatory lending victims.

The directive anchored a series of five major decisions passed during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Balendra Shah at the Singha Durbar.

Details of the session were later briefed to the press by Sasmit Pokharel, the Minister for Education and Sports and government spokesperson.

Recognizing the urgency of ongoing emergency responses, the Cabinet also approved a vital safety measure by granting incentive allowances to Armed Police Force personnel actively deployed in high-risk search and rescue operations.

On the regulatory front, the administration officially greenlit the Seed (First Amendment) Regulation, 2026, aimed at modernizing agricultural standards.

Turning to national sports and state infrastructure, the government announced cash rewards and official certificates of appreciation for athletes, coaches, physios, and managers who have brought home international medals.

Finally, to streamline state aviation, the meeting concluded with a leadership reshuffle at Nepal Airlines Corporation, appointing current Board Chairman Maheshwar Bhakta Shrestha as Executive Chairman to assume the full responsibilities of Managing Director.
