BAJURA: Continuous heavy rainfall triggered a landslide at Selagad in Badimalika Municipality-09, placing 13 households at risk. Among them, three houses have been rendered completely uninhabitable due to severe damage.

Following reports that a landslide had struck from above the settlement on Friday morning at around 4:35 AM, a police team from the District Police Office, Bajura, arrived at the site. The officers successfully rescued and relocated all members of the 13 affected families along with their food grains, clothing, kitchen utensils, and other belongings to a safe location.

A total of 83 family members reside within these 13 affected households. During the incident, 30-year-old Parvati Thapa, wife of local resident Prem Thapa, fainted; she was discharged from the health facility after her condition improved following treatment.

The landslide also damaged the Totke irrigation canal located at Badimalika Municipality-8, Rapka. It swept away approximately 230 meters of 200 mm plastic pipe as well as a 25-meter section of concrete canal.

Authorities have maintained enhanced monitoring and necessary precautions in the affected area.
