KATHMANDU: In a rare and striking display of self-criticism, Nepali Communist Party Coordinator and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ admitted that leftist leadership shares direct responsibility for pushing Nepal into its most severe political crisis since the historic 1816 Sugauli Treaty.

Addressing a symposium hosted by the Pushpalal Friendship Centre in the capital on Friday, Prachanda abandoned traditional talking points, acknowledging that blaming external powers alone is a cop-out for systemic domestic failures.

Urging a radical departure from dogmatic thinking, Prachanda insisted that only an honest, scientific review of their own major missteps can pull the nation back from the brink.
