HETAUDA: The Inland Revenue Office in Hetauda, Makwanpur, has collected nearly Rs 6 billion in revenue during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2025/26.

According to office chief Yukta Prasad Subedi, intensified efforts in recovering outstanding dues and conducting market monitoring helped the office collect Rs 5.92 billion in revenue — an increase of Rs 342.124 million compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.

By mid-May of the current fiscal year, the office had collected Rs 3.45 billion in excise duty, Rs 1.02 billion in income tax, Rs 827.152 million in value-added tax (VAT), Rs 519.259 million in health risk tax, Rs 68.377 million in interest tax, and Rs 15.988 million in rental tax.

Subedi said the office has set an annual revenue collection target of Rs 8.44 billion for the current fiscal year.

He added that more than Rs 100 million in old outstanding dues had been recovered through campaigns such as visiting taxpayers’ homes, issuing reminders through telephone calls and SMS, and promoting tax exemption facilities.
