KATHMANDU: On Friday, the final trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) decreased by 13.46 points. Falling by 0.47 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE settled at the 2,837.77 mark.
On this day, the Sensitive Index also declined by 3.39 points to stop at 478.13 points. In terms of percentage, this is 0.70 percent lower than the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index decreased by 0.64 percent, and the sensitive float index dropped by 1.26 percent.
In the stock market on Friday, 21,087,628 unit shares of 335 companies were traded through 97,480 transactions. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 8.993 billion was recorded on Friday.
On NEPSE, a turnover of Rs 12.38 billion was recorded on Sunday. On Monday, the turnover was Rs 10.928 billion. On Tuesday, the turnover was Rs 6.737 billion. On Wednesday, it was Rs 8.318 billion, and on Thursday, it was Rs 9.919 billion.

Out of the 13 sectors traded on NEPSE today, sub-indices of two sectors increased while 11 sectors turned ‘red’ (declined). Accordingly, on Friday, while the Commercial Bank group index rose by 0.74 percent, the Development Bank by 0.67 percent, Finance by 0.60 percent, and Hotel and Tourism by 0.44 percent, the Hydropower group sub-index decreased by 0.08 percent.
Similarly, the Investment group sub-index fell by 1.12 percent, and the Life Insurance group index fell by 0.71 percent, while Manufacturing and Processing increased by 1.59 percent.
The sub-indices for microfinance fell by 0.73 percent, mutual funds by 0.49 percent, non-life insurance by 0.48 percent, others by 0.39 percent, and the trading group by 0.06 percent.
On Friday, the share prices of four companies hit the positive circuit breaker on NEPSE. Those hitting the positive circuit include Bhujung Hydropower, Super Khudi Hydropower, Hotel Forest Inn Nepal, and Palpa Cement Industries. This means investors in these four companies earned 10 percent.
In contrast, investors in NIC Asia Balanced Fund faced a loss of 4.17 percent.
In terms of turnover amount, National Hydropower Company remained at the forefront. Today, a turnover of Rs 513.2 million was recorded for National Hydropower.
Similarly, in terms of the number of shares traded, National Hydropower Company was also the leader today. At least 1,641,255 unit shares of National Hydropower were bought and sold on Friday. Its final trading price was maintained at Rs 310.50 per unit.
