NRB publishes foreign exchange rates for Monday

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the official foreign exchange rates for Monday, setting the buying rate of one U.S. dollar at Rs. 154.21 and the selling rate at Rs. 154.81.

The central bank fixed the buying and selling rates of the euro at Rs. 175.31 and Rs. 175.99, respectively, while the British pound sterling was set at Rs. 205.46 for buying and Rs. 206.26 for selling. The Swiss franc was valued at Rs. 188.49 for buying and Rs. 189.22 for selling.

Among other major currencies, the Australian dollar was fixed at Rs. 107.65 (buying) and Rs. 108.07 (selling), the Canadian dollar at Rs. 109.41 and Rs. 109.83, and the Singapore dollar at Rs. 119.48 and Rs. 119.95.

The buying and selling rates for 10 Japanese yen were set at Rs. 9.41 and Rs. 9.45, while the Chinese yuan was fixed at Rs. 22.77 and Rs. 22.86. Similarly, the Saudi riyal was valued at Rs. 41.08 for buying and Rs. 41.24 for selling, and the Qatari riyal at Rs. 42.32 and Rs. 42.48.

The central bank also set the buying and selling rates of the Thai baht at Rs. 4.58 and Rs. 4.59, the UAE dirham at Rs. 41.99 and Rs. 42.15, the Malaysian ringgit at Rs. 37.69 and Rs. 37.84, and 100 South Korean won at Rs. 10.57 and Rs. 10.61. The Swedish krona was fixed at Rs. 15.88 and Rs. 15.94, while the Danish krone was set at Rs. 23.46 and Rs. 23.55.

Meanwhile, the buying and selling rates for the Hong Kong dollar were fixed at Rs. 19.66 and Rs. 19.74, the Kuwaiti dinar at Rs. 501.01 and Rs. 502.96, the Bahraini dinar at Rs. 408.99 and Rs. 410.58, and the Omani riyal at Rs. 400.53 and Rs. 402.09.

The buying rate for Indian currency (INR 100) has been set at Rs. 160.00, while the selling rate is Rs. 160.15. NRB noted that the exchange rates may be revised at any time as required and that commercial banks may quote different rates, with the latest official rates available on the central bank’s website.
