KATHMANDU: A specialized joint repatriation operation managed by the Lumbini Province Police and the Rupandehi District Police Office successfully rescued 453 Nepali citizens from Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh today.
Working alongside the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi, an elite police unit directed by SSP Prakash Malla located the citizens, transporting them across the Sunauli border through the Belahiya checkpoint to Bhairahawa inside eight Indian transport buses.
According to Rupandehi Police, that women make up nearly 50 percent of the rescued group. Preliminary investigations suggest the individuals were held in captivity under false pretenses, requiring immediate profiling before family integration.
