MORANG: Police have arrested three individuals on charges of possessing and trafficking brown sugar, an illicit narcotic.

The suspects have been identified as Sahil Dahal, 26, and Raju Pokharel, 30, both residents of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-5 in Morang, and Tulsi Pokharel, 28, of Inaruwa Municipality-6 in Sunsari.

According to the Narcotics Control Bureau in Koteshwor, the trio was arrested in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7 during an operation carried out on Wednesday.

Police recovered 36.430 grams of brown sugar from their possession, said bureau spokesperson Superintendent of Police Durgaraj Regmi.

The suspects have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway, police said.
