KATHMANDU: The government is preparing to grant a 10-year free visa to Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) under a proposed Immigration Bill aimed at revising and consolidating immigration laws.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs draft, NRNs or persons of Nepali origin holding foreign citizenship or NRN identity cards, along with their families, will be eligible for the facility.
The bill also outlines 17 categories of visas and strengthens immigration controls, giving authorities power to regulate entry, stay, and exit of foreigners and deny entry if documents are found invalid or suspicious.
