The Russian House in Kathmandu hosted a classical ballet graduation concert yesterday (June 27) to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Bolshoi Theatre, showcasing the achievements of students from Sushila Arts Academy.

The event was attended by Zhanna Vasilyevna Surovtseva, spouse of the Russian ambassador to Nepal, who visited the exhibition “85 Years of Sovinformburo: History Brought to Life” before the performance. The exhibition featured historic photographs from the RIA Novosti archive.

The concert presented students’ progression from basic ballet training to advanced pointe technique and concluded with a full-scale ballet performance. Surovtseva presented medals to junior and senior graduates in recognition of their achievements.

According to the organizers, the event highlighted cultural exchange between Nepal and Russia and promoted the development of classical ballet in Nepal.
