KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley is currently draped in shades of purple as jacaranda flowers bloom across the city, adding striking beauty to the urban landscape.

Large trees lining major roads are covered with vibrant purple blossoms, making the capital more visually appealing during the spring season. Areas such as Durbar Marg, Ratna Park, Sundhara, Singha Durbar, Satdobato, and Gaushala have been especially transformed, with jacaranda blooms changing the overall look and feel of the city.

The soft purple hues of the flowers have made springtime in Kathmandu more colorful and lively, drawing attention from residents and visitors alike.

Jacaranda is not native to Nepal. The flower originated in Central and South America and is believed to have entered Nepal via India. It is widely thought that Nepali workers returning from India introduced the plant to the country.
