POKHARA: Continuous rainfall has triggered a landslide that has blocked the Seti River in Pokhara. A portion of the river was dammed after the water eroded the banks at Ratopaihro, located on the border of Pokhara Metropolitan City Wards 15 and 17.

Following reports of the landslide, a team including Kaski’s Chief District Officer Kuman Singh Gurung, Kaski District Police Office Chief SP Nabin Karki, and Pokhara Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Manju Devi Gurung arrived at the site on Sunday morning for an inspection.

Since the landslide blocked the path, the water has not been able to drain out fully. Deputy Mayor Gurung stated that the water level has risen by about 50 meters in the area upstream from where the landslide occurred.
