KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley has been experiencing a continuous rise in temperature over the past few days. This scorching heat has severely affected daily life, impacting not only humans but also animals and birds. To cope with the intense heat, different animals are adopting their own unique survival strategies.

Amidst this, a fascinating sight has emerged at the Swayambhunath Stupa premises. The local monkeys are spotted daily, swimming and enjoying themselves in the pond located within the complex.

To find relief from the extreme heat, the monkeys are actively engaged in jumping into the water, diving, and swimming around. Their efforts to cool down their bodies and quench their thirst through the water are clearly visible.

With the rising temperatures, the monkeys of Swayambhunath have turned the pond into their go-to sanctuary for coolness. These playful water activities have also caught the attention of both domestic and international tourists visiting the historic site.
