No community transmission of hantavirus confirmed in Nepal, says Ministry of Health

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene has clarified that there is currently no community transmission or outbreak of the hantavirus in Nepal.

According to the ministry, there is no truth to the unverified and misleading information regarding the hantavirus that has recently been circulated on certain media platforms and social networks.

The ministry stated that no community transmission of this virus has been confirmed within the country so far.

Similarly, the ministry mentioned that the World Health Organization (WHO) has also indicated that internationally monitored cases of hantavirus are under control and currently pose no significant risk to public health.

The ministry has urged citizens to rely only on information obtained from official bodies and credible sources for health-related updates.

Additionally, it has appealed to everyone not to create or spread unverified information, rumors, or misleading content.
