3,000 court cases perished during Gen Z movement recovered in Gandaki

GANDAKI: Out of 6,126 legal documents torched during the September uprising in Gandaki Province, 3,307 court cases have been regained. The High Court of Pokhara, District Court of Kaski, and the District Court of Tanahu had lost such number of court cases.

The district attorney offices and concerned disputants of cases were requested to provide the copy of the court cases. These recovered copies are verified by the related courts.

The High Court of Pokhara was able to collect 250 cases out of 257 cases, while the District Court of Kaski collected 1,989 cases out of the 2,065 court cases perished in arson.

Similarly, the District Court of Tanahu was able to regain 1,083 cases of out of 1,804 cases, according deputy registrar at the High Court, Nil Prasad Paneru.

Separate teams were formed to study, collect and verify the court documents.

“In the ongoing cases, it is difficult to forward hearing in absence of case documents. So, the recovery campaign is continued,” he added.
