KATHMANDU: Inspector General of Nepal Police, Dan Bahadur Karki, departed for Thailand on Sunday.
IGP Karki left for Bangkok to participate in the upcoming regional summit organized jointly by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Royal Thai Police.
Superintendent of Police Dharma Raj Bhandari also left for Thailand alongside the police chief on Sunday.
The two-day conference, titled ‘The Regional Summit on Scam Center Compounds and Transnational Organized Crime’, is scheduled to take place in Bangkok from July 20–21.
Additional Inspectors General (AIGs), Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), and other senior police officers gathered at the Tribhuvan International Airport to see off IGP Karki.
The summit will hold detailed discussions on regional strategies, joint operations, and institutional coordination required to address challenges related to organized crime.
During Karki’s absence, Additional Inspector General of Police Rajan Adhikari will take charge of the daily administrative operations at the Nepal Police Headquarters.
