CHITWAN: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung on Sunday visited the venue of the Rastriya Swatantra Party’s (RSP) national convention in Bharatpur, Chitwan, after heavy overnight rainfall caused significant waterlogging at the site.
The downpour inundated parts of the convention grounds, creating challenges for organizers ahead of the party’s first national gathering. During the inspection, Minister Gurung reviewed the situation on-site and held discussions with Chitwan’s Chief District Officer and members of the organizing committee regarding necessary measures to restore the venue.
He instructed the local administration to expedite drainage and management efforts to ensure the convention proceeds smoothly. Following the directive, teams have been mobilized to pump out accumulated water, while soil is being used to fill muddy sections and improve ground conditions.
The Home Minister also assessed security arrangements and preparedness for the event, which is expected to draw a large number of party leaders, delegates, and supporters.
