Woman dies after stepping on electric trap set for wild animals in Gulmi

GULMI: A woman has died after accidentally stepping on an electric trap set up to ward off wild animals in Mantari, Dhurkot Rural Municipality-5 of Gulmi district.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhim Kiran Bogati of the District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Hum Kala Bhandari, a resident of Dhurkot-5.

Police reported that Bhandari was severely injured in the incident last night at around 1:30 AM.

She was rushed to Gulmi Hospital in Tamghas for treatment, where doctors pronounced her dead later that night.

The police have taken the deceased’s husband into custody.

A police team reached the incident site early this morning to conduct further investigation, and a formal probe into the case has begun.
