KATHMANDU: Both houses of the Federal Parliament are scheduled to meet today. According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the House of Representatives (HoR) will convene at 11:00 AM, while the National Assembly meeting is set for 1:15 PM.

In the HoR session, discussions on the Appropriation Bill will commence. The Secretariat has stated that the allocations under various headings for different ministries under the Appropriation Bill, 2026, will be discussed in a grouped format.

According to the agenda, the budget allocations to be debated today include the Ministry of Youth, Labor, and Employment; Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies; Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environment; Ministry of Information and Communication; Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation; Ministry of Education and Sports; Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs, and General Administration; and the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly will conduct a general discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2026/27. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is scheduled to address and respond to the queries raised during the general discussion on the upcoming fiscal year’s budget.
