KATHMANDU: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has stated that the government is fully committed to steering the home administration in accordance with the rule of law and human rights.
Speaking during a budget discussion in the National Assembly on Tuesday, the Minister emphasized that protecting citizens’ lives, property, and freedom remains the administration’s primary duty.
Minister Gurung noted that rather than operating solely as a traditional security mechanism, the home administration is being transformed into a foundation for sustainable peace, development, and good governance.
He stressed his intent to deliver tangible, practical results in security and fairness instead of offering mere verbal promises.
Additionally, the Minister highlighted that the government is prioritizing reconstruction efforts for families affected by monsoon disasters and the Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim earthquakes.
He assured that the necessary resources have been allocated for the upcoming fiscal year to complete the rebuilding of damaged private homes and government buildings in the affected districts.
