KATHMANDU: The Secretariat meeting of the CPN (UML), which was earlier scheduled for today at party chair KP Sharma Oli’s residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur, has been postponed to Monday.

According to UML Central Office, the meeting was rescheduled as party leaders will be engaged in various programs related to Madan-Ashrit Memorial Day preparations.

The meeting was expected to begin at 1 pm and was likely to focus on key post-election issues, including a review of the results of the March 5 House of Representatives election and internal discussions on the distribution of responsibilities within the party.

Party sources had indicated that the meeting would also come under close scrutiny amid growing pressure within the UML for leadership accountability following the party’s underwhelming electoral performance.

However, the party has yet to formally conduct a comprehensive review of the election outcome due to delays in convening central meetings.

The rescheduled meeting is now expected to take place on Monday.
