ILAM: Three people, including the driver, were injured when a passenger jeep lost control and plunged off the Mangalbare–Birtamod inner road section in Deumai Municipality-8 on Friday morning, police said.

The accident occurred at around 8:35 am when the vehicle (Me 1 Ja 3333) was en route to Birtamod from Mangalbare and veered about 200 meters off the road at Ratnachautara.

All three occupants were injured in the crash and were taken to Birtacity Hospital in Jhapa for treatment. Hospital officials said their condition is stable.

The injured have been identified as driver Uttam Khadka (36) of Deumai-4, Jhapa, and passengers Kokila Dawadi (68) and Premmani Acharya (60), both from Deumai-5, Ilam.
