SINDHULI: Police have arrested three individuals in possession of brown heroin and cash from the BP Highway checkpoint at Bhiman in Kamalamai Municipality-9, Sindhuli.

According to police, a joint team from the Area Police Office Bhiman and the Narcotics Control Bureau, Bardibas branch, intercepted a Hiace van (Bagmati Province 08-001 Cha 0177) traveling from Sunsari to Kathmandu on Friday morning.

During the search, officers recovered 31.29 grams of a substance suspected to be brown heroin from Rupesh Thakur, 21, of Barahakshetra Municipality-4, Sunsari. Police also seized Rs 100,000 in cash from Jugal Kishor Dhami.

Another individual, Suraj Raj Dhami, 30, of the same municipality, was also taken into custody.

All three have been held at the Area Police Office Bhiman, and further investigation is underway, police said.
