KATHMANDU: The Centre for Educational Development and Research (CERID) under Tribhuvan University has organized a two-day national seminar aimed at strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions and the industrial sector in Nepal.
Titled “Reimagining Higher Education for Nepal: Pathways to Innovation and Development 2026,” the program brings together academics and business leaders to discuss aligning education with labor market demands and national development priorities.
On the first day at Tribhuvan Smriti Bhawan in Kirtipur, a panel discussion focused on education-industry collaboration. Business leaders including Pradeep Kumar Shrestha of Panchakanya Group, Dr. Upendra Mahato of NRNA, and Chandra Prasad Dhakal of IME Group emphasized the need for stronger industry-academia links, skill development, and innovation-driven growth.
Tribhuvan University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sushil Bahadur Bajracharya said universities must prioritize producing a skilled, job-ready workforce and noted that curriculum reforms are being advanced under the Labor Market Driven Program.
The seminar will continue over two days with research paper presentations by senior academicians.
