KATHMANDU: Nepal’s journey in the CAVA Women’s Volleyball Championship has ended in the semifinal stage.

In the second semifinal held on Thursday at the National Sports Council (NSC) covered hall in Tripureshwar, Nepal suffered a straight-sets 3-0 defeat against the defending champions, Iran.

Nepal will now face India for the third-place playoff.

India was also defeated in straight sets (3-0) by Kazakhstan in the first semifinal match.

Aside from a competitive opening set, Nepal failed to mount a significant challenge.

After losing the first set 20-25, Nepal went on to lose the subsequent two sets 15-25 and 11-25.
