KATHMANDU: After a decade, Sitaram Kattel ‘Dhurmus’, Deepak Raj Giri, and Jitu Nepal ‘Mundre’ are set to appear together in a new film titled Panch Pandav, directed by Basanta Niraula.
In an interview, actor Giri confirmed the news, stating, “We are currently working on the film’s preparations.” Deepak, who was recently traveling through Myagdi, Baglung, and Pokhara, shared this while returning to Kathmandu. The trio visited various districts in the Gandaki Province this week and were in Pokhara on Saturday, likely for pre-production discussions.Earlier, Deepak was also seen at the Maitighar film location in Takam, Myagdi.
Deepak had indicated the project on Saturday by uploading a group photo of the three actors on Facebook. He stated Panch Pandav could be his next film and preparations are underway, though no word is confirmed yet. Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus) and Kunjana Ghimire (Suntali), however, have already been officially signed. Following the news, actor Kedar Ghimire also shared the update on Facebook.
If the project moves forward, this will mark the trio’s first collaboration since Wada Number 6, released in 2015.
According to sources, Panch Pandav will feature five lead actors. The Film Development Board granted production approval on Chaitra 17 (around late March). According to board records, the film will be produced under the Kali Rani Films banner with a budget of NPR 33.2 million (approx. 3.32 crore).
The film is being presented by Laaj Sharanam fame Nabeen Shrestha and produced by Kalirani Shrestha. The screenplay is written by Sushil Paudel, and Dilip Pant will serve as the production controller.
