KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing the combined effects of westerly and local winds, along with partial influence from humid air masses coming from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.

As a result, most parts of the country are witnessing partly to generally cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain has already been observed in various locations across Koshi and Madhesh provinces.

This afternoon, cloudy weather is expected to persist, with chances of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in the hilly areas, particularly in Koshi Province.

Isolated rainfall is also possible in other parts of the country. In the mountainous regions, there is a likelihood of light rain and snowfall.

Tonight, the hilly areas are forecast to remain partly to generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will see clear to partly cloudy skies. Isolated areas in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces may experience light rain with thunder and lightning. Similarly, some mountainous areas in Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali could see light rain and snowfall.

The Division has urged the public to remain cautious, as adverse weather—including rain, wind, and snow—could affect daily activities, farming, health services, and transportation by road and air.
