NAWALPARASI: Traffic has been halted on the Bardaghat–Dumkibas section of the East-West Highway after the road collapsed near Khursani Khola in Daunne.
Following heavy rainfall, a truck got stuck at the site where the road had caved in, causing a complete disruption of transportation along the route since last night.
According to District Police Office, West Nawalparasi, vehicles heading east have been stopped at TCN Chowk in Bardaghat, while those coming from the east have been held at Dumkibas.
Efforts are underway to reopen the road, but police noted that continued rainfall may cause delays.
The Khursani Khola area has seen repeated road collapses in the past. Despite ongoing road widening on the Narayanghat–Butwal stretch, delays in completing a 14-kilometer segment in the Daunne section have led to frequent traffic disruptions.
