KATHMANDU: Maniraj Baral, Ward Chair of Phukot, Ward No. 8, Raskot Municipality, has been missing since Wednesday evening. He reportedly left the ward office in Raskot–5, Lamasin, saying he was going to his in-laws’ home after completing official work, but never arrived.

Raskot Municipality Chief Dharmaraj Shahi confirmed that Baral has not been seen at home or his in-laws’, and his whereabouts remain unknown. Despite searches conducted by local residents and municipality police across all wards and main roads, there has been no sign of him.

A municipal press release noted that Baral has been taking medication for mental health issues. Baral is married with one son and two daughters and was elected as a local representative in the 2079 local elections, representing the Maoist Centre.
