KATHMANDU: Continuous rainfall, accompanied by subsequent floods and landslides, has severely disrupted traffic across Nepal’s major highways, affecting Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Bagmati Province remains the hardest hit, with the BP Highway completely blocked by landslides in Kavre and vehicular movement halted along the Khurkot–Nepalthok section due to flood risks.

Additionally, the Araniko Highway in Sindhupalchok and the Kanti Lokpath highway connecting Lalitpur and Makwanpur are entirely shut down.

While the Prithvi Highway in Dhading has been fully cleared, other vital transport arteries, such as the Mechi Highway in Koshi and the Kaligandaki Corridor in Gandaki, face total closures.

Meanwhile, key routes like the East-West Highway at Daunne and the Mid-Hill Highway in Bhojpur are restricted to one-way traffic, causing severe vehicular congestion.
