KHOTANG: Two people died on Friday after being swept away by rain-triggered flash floods in separate incidents across Khotang district.

According to the District Police Office, 43-year-old Shanta Rai was found dead in the Chhange River near her home at Nerpa in Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-6.

Similarly, 71-year-old Parshuram Pariyar was swept 100 meters downstream while attempting to cross a swollen seasonal stream in Baksila of Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-4.
