KATHMANDU: The residence of CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” in Khumaltar was set on fire on Tuesday morning.

According to Lalitpur Chief District Officer Suman Ghimire, the Gen Z group carried out arson and vandalism at Dahal’s residence.

The residence of Communication Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung in Sunakothi also suffered vandalism and fire damage, Ghimire added.

“Security forces are currently working to disperse the protesters. Both Prachanda’s residence and the Communication Minister’s residence have been vandalized and set on fire,” Ghimire told Nepal News.

The Lalitpur District administration has imposed a curfew across several areas of the district. The curfew, announced by Chief District Officer Ghimire, is effective from 7 a.m. to midnight. Despite the curfew, the Gen Z group continues to protest.

“Protests have started in different parts of the district. Security arrangements have been made to prevent the situation from becoming abnormal,” Ghimire said.
