KATHMANDU: As efforts to form a new government with the facilitation of the Nepal Army gain momentum, Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has stressed that the new leadership must reflect the aspirations of the Gen Z generation.

In a 15-minute video message on Facebook on Thursday, Thapa said that since Gen Z has been the driving force behind recent political changes, the government should be structured in line with their expectations.

Addressing the young protesters directly, he stated, “Moving forward according to your sentiments and forming a government that works in that spirit is the right way.”

Thapa also urged Gen Z activists to ensure that government formation takes place within the framework of the constitution.

He warned that curtailing constitutional rights and bypassing the balance enshrined in the charter could create a situation in the future that the country may not be able to manage.
