KATHMANDU: Amid demands for a special general convention, CPN (Maoist Centre) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has proposed holding the event by November.
According to an official, Prachanda presented the proposal during the office bearers meeting held on Sunday at the party headquarters in Parisdanda.
The proposal also includes dissolving all committees from the central to the local level.
During the meeting, Prachanda discussed the Gen Z movement and the issues it raised.
Recently, debates on leadership transfer and generational change have intensified within major parties, and Prachanda appears to have acknowledged these concerns.
The call for a special general convention had been strongly advocated by party figures including Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma and Secretary Ram Karki.
