KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies Anil Kumar Sinha has assumed office at the Ministry in Singh Durbar. After assuming office, he took the first decision regarding the reconstruction of buildings damaged during the Gen-Z movements, emphasizing the use of domestic materials as much as possible.

On the occasion, he stated that the government has a policy of encouraging the use of local products even if it may be slightly more expensive during reconstruction. The minister expressed confidence that this step will contribute to enterprise development, stating that economic progress in the country cannot be achieved without facilitating industry and business.

“The main objective right now is to provide employment opportunities to the families of those injured and martyrs, and to focus on managing the skills of the youth. There is a need for skills development and management to create an environment for the youth to stay in the country.

We will work on this.” Minister Sinha clarified that the first goal of the interim government is to conduct elections in a clean, fair, and peaceful manner and to transfer the responsibility of state operation to the elected government.

He expressed hope to see new faces in the assembly in the upcoming elections. “Let’s not expect to achieve a lot in six months. I intend to facilitate procedural matters and use online technology,” said the minister, “We will work in such a way that the contributions of the Gen-Z do not go to waste.”

The minister has previously served as a justice of the Supreme Court.
