KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed Joint Secretary Ishwar Raj Paudel as the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kathmandu District Administration Office.

The ministry transferred Joint Secretary Chhabi Rijal, who had been serving as Kathmandu CDO, and replaced him with Paudel.

Confirming the transfer, Ministry spokesperson and Joint Secretary Ananda Kafle said Paudel was assigned to lead the Kathmandu administration following a ministerial decision on Wednesday.

Rijal has been transferred to the Ministry of Home Affairs. He had stopped attending the administration office after facing accusations of suppressing the Gen Z movement.

Earlier, the ministry had also transferred Kathmandu Police Chief SSP Bishwo Adhikari and replaced him with SSP Ramesh Thapa from the Nepal Police Headquarters.
