KATHMANDU: Gen Z activists staged a protest today, demanding the resignation of Prem Kumar Rai, Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

The demonstration took place this morning on the road in front of the CIAA headquarters in Tangal, with heightened security deployed to manage the crowd.

The protesters had sent emails to Chief Commissioner Rai and other CIAA commissioners yesterday, urging them to step down voluntarily.

In addition to their demands regarding the CIAA, the group called for the removal of current Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut and the appointment of a new Chief Justice.

They also sought the annulment of the appointments of 52 constitutional officials made during the tenure of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
