KATHMANDU: For the first time, a Nepali film centers its story on Mount Everest.

Jerry on Top, based on an Everest expedition and a love story during the climb, premiered today, highlighting Nepal’s natural beauty and tourist destinations.

Actor Anmol KC, who plays a young climber, said depicting Everest realistically was the biggest challenge.

Actress Jasita Gurung trained for a month to portray his guide authentically, working under Sherpa supervision to ensure natural performances.

The film aims to inspire other Nepali filmmakers to explore Himalayan stories.

Actress Anchal Sharma noted that the original Jerry attracted young audiences, and she expects Jerry on Top to do the same.

Produced by Ananya Films and directed by Suyog Gurung, the movie also stars Bhuwan KC, Kedar Ghimire, and Usha Khadgi, with story by Hemraj B.C., screenplay by Bishwas Timilsina, and cinematography by Dulip Regmi.
