KATHMANDU: The Patan High Court has dismissed the writ petition filed by Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Chief Rajunath Pandey.
Pandey had filed the writ against his suspension order issued by Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain.
The joint bench of Justices Dal Bahadur Khadka and Deepak Khanal on Wednesday dismissed Pandey’s petition, confirming that he will remain under suspension.
Following Pandey’s suspension, Kathmandu Metropolitan City had appointed Bishnu Prasad Joshi as the new chief of the city police force.
Joshi will now continue in the position.
Pandey was suspended for six months, after which Guragain had appointed Joshi to lead the metropolitan police on June 2.
