KATHMANDU: Two new Nepali films, Jaari 2 and Man Binako Dhan, were released across Nepal on Friday, joining existing titles like last week’s Paran and new Hindi and English releases.
Jaari 2, directed by Upendra Subba and released with about 200 shows, is the sequel to the hit film Jaari‘.
Subba’s Jaari 2 explores the cultural impact of the 10-year conflict and features stars like Dayahang Rai, Miruna Magar, and Buddhi Tamang.
Jaari 2 also received a Universal certificate but debuted to mixed reviews at its Thursday premiere.
The second release, Man Binako Dhan, directed by Tanka Budathoki, is a biographical film centered on the musical journey of viral child singer Ashok Darji, who also plays the lead role.
Both new releases face direct competition from last week’s domestic hit, Paran, and other Nepali films still running, intensifying the box office battle this weekend.
