KATHMANDU: The 14th European Union Film Festival (EUFF) Nepal 2025 is set to return this November with an extensive lineup of European and Nepali films celebrating creativity, diversity, and cross-cultural storytelling.
The festival will take place in Kathmandu from 14 to 16 November at QFX Chhaya Center, Thamel, and in Pokhara from 21 to 23 November at QFX Trade Mall, Chipledhunga.
This year’s edition features 25 films, including 10 European features, 6 BAFTA-nominated shorts, and 9 Nepali short films.
The selection explores themes of identity, belonging, resistance, and transformation, highlighting a shared cinematic language of courage, memory, and hope.
Among the European entries are Banzo (Portugal), Je’vida (Finland), Happy (Austria), Without Air (Hungary), and The Girl from Tomorrow (France/Italy).
The BAFTA Shorts Showcase from the United Kingdom includes Wander to Wonder, Rock, Paper, Scissors, Mog’s Christmas, Milk, and Adios.
The Nepali short films section, curated in collaboration with local filmmakers and film schools, includes What Grows in Thari Maila’s Vegetable Garden?, Chandani, Abyss, and Eternal Kinship.
Together, these works aim to create a cinematic dialogue that bridges borders and celebrates shared human experiences.
Organised by the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal, EUFF Nepal 2025 is presented in collaboration with various embassies and cultural institutions representing EU Member States in Kathmandu and Delhi, including France, Germany, and Finland, alongside the British Council and UNESCO.
All screenings are free of charge and include English subtitles.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will host several parallel programmes to promote learning and professional growth within the Nepali film community.
