French embassy provides €4,000 grant to support menstrual dignity and youth leadership

KATHMANDU: The French Embassy in Nepal has announced a grant of €4,000 to the Radha Paudel Foundation (RPF) to support its upcoming project, “Strengthen Youth Leadership on Menstrual Dignity for Preventing Gender-Based Violence in Nepal.”

The year-long initiative, scheduled to run from January to December 2026, aims to enhance youth leadership on menstrual dignity and reduce existing gaps across sectors and levels. The project will operate as a learning model to promote dignity, awareness, and informed advocacy around menstruation as a key pathway to preventing gender-based violence (GBV).

French Ambassador to Nepal Virginie Corteval said the support aligns with France’s global commitment to feminist diplomacy, which places the rights of women and girlsand broader gender equalityat the core of its foreign policy priorities.

“By supporting the Radha Paudel Foundation, the French Embassy reaffirms its dedication to promoting women’s and girls’ rights,” the Embassy noted.
