Bhaktapur police on Wednesday afternoon arrested a man on the charge of sexually abusing a 13-year-old minor girl from Ganesh Mandir in Suryabinayak Municipality-8.

The accused has been identified as Chulai Mukhiya, a 49-year-old resident of the same municipality in Bhaktapur district.

Mukhiya allegedly abused the minor in Sallaghari of Bhaktapur Municipality-1 on December 26, 2020. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Jagati-based Metropolitan Police Circle nabbed Mukhiya from his residence.

Further investigation into the case is underway, informed the police.
