KATHMANDU: The interim government’s high-level political dialogue committee is visiting the offices of political parties to hold talks and create an enabling environment for the March 5 House of Representatives election.
The Sushila Karki-led interim government formed in the wake of Gen Z movement on September 8 and 9 this year is mandated to hold fresh election on March 5, 2026.
The interim government formed the committee in coordination of the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Anil Sinha, to engage political parties in view of the impending election.
Towards this, the committee inspected the office of the Janamat Party and held discussions.
Following the meeting, Minister Sinha shared that the government is making all necessary preparation for the March 5’s election.
Sinha said, “We held a detailed talks with Janamat Party’s Chairperson Dr CK Raut and briefed the party leaders on election preparation.”
According to Minister Sinha, Dr Raut advised the government to address security and other logistics issue during the election and the government assured that these concern would taken seriously.
Likewise, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, also member of the committee, accompanied Minister Sinha.
Minister Kharel said that the government has started visiting the major political parties to hold discussions aimed at creating a favorable environment for election.
Extending his gratitude towards the political parties for their cooperation for the election, Minister Kharel, also Spokesperson of the government, appraised that the preparation is in full swing for the election.
“Every political party we met said that the environment for the election is ready and they are ready,” he exclaimed.
Leader Dr Raut stated that his party had decided from the beginning to take part in the election and has begun preparation across the country.
“We have already made a phase of preparation from Mechi to Mahakail,” divulged the leader.
He added that the government had given positive assurances on security concerns during the election, including the issues related to prisoners at large and weapons looted during the Gen-Z revolt.
