LALITPUR: Lalitpur), Jan 28: The Second National Cooperative Youths and Technology Conference concluded on Wednesday issuing a six-point declaration.
The two-day conference was organised by National Cooperatives Federation of Nepal, with the support of Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.
Acting Chairperson of the Federation, Ramesh Prasad Pokharel said the declaration was issued incorporating the issues of reforming institutional policy to represent youths in policy making and decision making level of organisations and implement it considering the coordination and use of youth leadership and technology for transformation of the cooperatives sector. This aimed to make the cooperative campaign modern, technology-friendly and youth-centric.
The issues — laying emphasis on infrastructure, human resources and policy-level reform for service deliver based on platform by fully adopting the modern technology like digital payment, data management, Fintech and Agritech in order to make cooperative transparent, sustainable and member-friendly, demanding establishment of training, mentorship, research and innovation centre at collaboration with public, private and non-government offices in order to make youths capable in technology and entrepreneurship are also incorporated in the declaration.
During the conference, group discussion was held between thematic experts and stakeholders focused on the issues of youths and technology in the cooperatives sector.
