KATHMANDU: Rubi Kumari Thakur, a 25-year-old lawmaker from the Shram Sanskriti Party, has been nominated as a candidate for the position of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has extended its support to her candidacy, according to RSP Spokesperson Manish Jha. RSP Member of Parliament Ashok Kumar Chaudhary has seconded her bid.
Thakur was elected as a Member of Parliament under the proportional representation system.
