Strong winds, thunderstorms to hit four provinces from this evening

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of strong winds in four provinces and urged the public to remain cautious.

According to the department, high-speed winds are expected from 4:00 pm Wednesday to 6:00 am Thursday across Koshi, Madhesh, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

A special bulletin has been issued, advising preparedness to minimize potential damage.

Weather conditions across the country are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy. This afternoon, hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces are likely to see cloud cover.

Many places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, along with a few locations in Karnali and Sudurpashchim, may experience moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, while higher elevations could see snowfall.

The department has also warned of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi Province and gusty winds in parts of the Terai.

Similar weather conditions are expected tonight, with chances of moderate rain and snowfall in several areas, along with possible heavy rainfall in parts of Koshi and Gandaki provinces and strong winds in some Terai regions.
