KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has issued a public apology after sharing a map on social media that incorrectly depicted the Jammu and Kashmir region of India as part of Pakistan, sparking strong backlash.

The national flag carrier acknowledged the error, saying the map contained serious inaccuracies that do not reflect the official position of Nepal or the airline. The post was swiftly removed, and an internal review has been launched to ensure accuracy in future communications.

The incident drew widespread criticism in India, with social media users and public figures, including Bhojpuri actor Khesari Lal Yadav, reacting strongly.

NAC said it regrets any offense caused and emphasized its commitment to maintaining strong ties with neighboring countries.
